ILLUSTRATION
DEVELOPMENT
I started studying Graphic Design and illustration at 13. I am now 24 so I have been doing illustration for a while now, but have only recently started finding my own style (Left ArtWork) and really pushing in the direction I love.
RECENT PROGRESS
Over the past three years, I have come along leaps and bounds in my digital artwork. My attention to detail has increased along with my use and understanding of colour. As you can see on the left, these illustrations were created a year apart and the difference is considerable, especially when you compare them to the illustration on the right which was created 2 years earlier.

EARLY
PROJECTS
I started Graphic Design at high school where I was mainly inspired by my friends in most of my projects, throwing them into worlds of my imagination and experimenting with my designs.
LINE ART &
SHADING
Line art is very important to me. Line art is the foundation of any illustration and I try to keep mine dynamic yet clean. I like to use the thickness of the line to denote shade, then use the eraser to create lines within the highly shaded areas.

UNDERSTANDING COLOUR

It took me a while and lots of dedication trying to figure out colour and I know there is always so much more to learn about this delicate balance. It is something I will never be complacent about and will always evolve in this complex area.

ART BREAKDOWN
This piece took 11 hours for me to complete, not including my initial sketches; most of this time was spent developing the line work. Next, I brought in the colour, ensuring consistency. I wanted to use purples within the base and then use a green light to connote the magical power of her apple, which was the focus point of the whole illustration.
