SPORTS CLOTHING & BRANDING
I worked at Optimum Sport, a sports clothing brand for almost a year as the head graphic designer. In that time I managed many interesting projects, from running photo shoots to developing football and rugby boots. My day to day also involved administrating the social media posts and creating unique kits for rugby, football, and dance teams.
KIT DESIGNS
Along with the more standard kits, I also got to create really unique and interesting ones, where I could really showcase my artwork through my design. These teams were always delighted with the outcome, often ordering far more than they originally had.
KIT DESIGNS
I had many different kits produced and was always proud to see the finished product on the shelves of high street shops and worn on the field.
I would often be tasked with creating kit showcase videos and social media posts so we could show prospective clients what we could offer.
BOOT DESIGN
I was tasked to create designs for the new flagship boot. You can see some of the early designs to the right. Optimum wanted something to stand out, based on a geometric style.
I developed 3 or 4 mock ups before I remembered Year 8 art class, creating tessellating shapes. I wanted to experiment with the same principle in my boot design. I used sharp shapes to give it the exciting dynamic feel, and everyone loved this design.
SKATEBOARDS DESIGNS
Before I left Optimum for other opportunities closer to home I worked on a real passion project for me which was creating a product research dossier into skateboards and along with that came creating skateboard designs. I loved this project and really got to use my illustration skills.
Sadly these where never produced as we decided it wasn't the right market for a rugby-originated brand.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media was part of my job, running the pages and creating unique exciting social media posts, along with assets for the website, and print.
Here is a selection of some of the social media posts I created, along with other assets such as website headers.
